It's a hectic old time, is this new console business. There are new games, new hardware, new bits and bobs of every description to read up on, buy and, if you're a delivery driver, to get safely from warehouse to customers' homes. Of course, not all delivery drivers are built the same or employ the same techniques to ensure that your goods — in this case a Switch 2, apparently — arrive as they should.
For us, regardless of the package, well, we would assume most would adopt a fairly routine method of walking right up to the door and handing it over to whoever lives there, who in this case is likely waiting for a shot on Mario Kart World.
However, and as seen on u/NintendoSwitch, one gamer has apparently captured — via the magic of the humble doorbell camera — a delivery man using an entirely new method.
New skill unlocked! As you can see in the clip above, this particular technique involves throwing the parcel (hopefully they got some bubble wrap in there) in the general direction of a house.
This particular shot didn't make it all the way to the door, although it did fairly well. Maybe next time!
Happily, the poster also confirms a little down the comments underneath their video that the Switch 2 was, box aside, quite remarkably fine!
A happy ending.
Have you had any consoles thrown at your house lately? Delivery person ever chuck a GameCube through a window? Make sure to let us know!

Lots of things i have ordered have small dings to the outer box and while annoying I try not to worry too much - these things happen.
I do like how when i have ordered from Smyths toys I am always given the name of the driver - not just the company but the driver's full name which adds a nice layer of ability for eventualities like this.
What a real A-hole thing to do.
Next time he'll chunk the 50' TV! 😱
There's absolutely no good reason why the delivery man had to do this (should've put the package on the ground slowly, but even dropping it instead of literally throwing it would've been better) - anyway, so glad that box aside this person's Switch 2 is luckily fine despite this!
That boy was not cut out to be a delivery driver. Not b/c of throwing the package, anyone can do that, but the way he shuffles off like Jabba the Hut. 😂
Going to assume he's fired by now. Maybe that's what he wanted.🤷♂️
Yeah, knew that was going to happen at some point. Glad only the box was damaged and the console is fine, but I'd still be upset. Would have been better if the driver just set the box on the ground and used his foot to slide it towards the door, about the same effort and less likely to damage anything.
I also don't necessarily blame the driver, a lot of these companies have absurd standards for getting things delivered in such short amounts of time.
If that was my switch I'd be tracking that driver down to give him a piece of my mind.
Delivery man played a lot of Paperboy back in the day.
I knew a guy who had a fenced in yard with a security gate who ordered a TV once and the delivery guy just threw it over the top cause nobody was home to open the gate.
I heard gamestop was stapling receipts to the switch 2 box and putting puncture holes in people's screens before they even got it home. 😡
Dude would be owing me half a grand if it broke.
“NAAAAAHHH ZEBANYAAAAAA”
Something like that
The dude was probably just seeking attention. Luckily for him, he was delivering the perfect sacrifice.
That doesn't include the tossing onto the plane in China.

It’s fine. The Switch 2 is tough. The box is not tough. The box took a bad hit. But it did absorb the impact for the precious console inside.
Id have sent that back and got that (insert expletive) sacked by sending the footage to his employer. If i spend £450 on something you can bet your ass i want it in perfect condition. Yes, even the cardboard box.
I'm not sure what annoys me most, the fact he threw it or that he only got it halfway up the path
Well he’s out of a job! Seriously why be a delivery worker if your not gonna handle peoples packages with care?
That driver may have got 47p for that job he did there, so he gave them there money's worth.
That's very unacceptable.
Btw, it will be different situation if you deliver big stuffs with giant cardboard package to Spongebob and Patrick because they will throw out the big stuffs inside and use the giant cardboard box for their Imagination session. 🤭
Next time leave the gate open. The yard also looks like pig sty. 🤢 Car randomly parked on grass as well?
@Kidfunkadelic83 I agree 100%! There's absolutely no way I'm not getting a second system out of this, and not way I'm not pursuing him being fired.
“I’m a chuckster!”
It’s the USA they always chuck, sling and throw the parcels towards the property.
Hope he gets fired lol, what a dork
I would go absolutely ballistic if I caught someone delivering my Switch 2 like that. Not a chance in hell he gets away with that. I would be out for revenge.
Nothing personnel kid
Whyyyy. Like maybe if there was a gate you couldn't get past, or a vicious dog. But what is the point of tossing it like that?
you locked your gate numb nads!! you deserve it!!!
Although the console itself wasn't damaged, I would have that delivery guy reported because what if it was damaged by his careless handling?
That's sucky, a friend of mine's was delivered by being 'thrown over the fence'. Seems like poor shipping is a trend.
No wonder the ***** looks so fat.
Just dam lazy, go on back to ya couch you disrespectful peace of turd.
Good job you can't see a video of the sorting centres!!
It is annoying the amount of people who buy stuff online and then are not in to receive delivery. Especially on items like this where you will be told specifically when it's being delivered
@SuperRetroArt People cannot afford to use a sick day from work every time they’re expecting a package delivery and it’s pretty crazy to expect them to.
App gig contractors, no quality control or reason to care
I’ve had this happen with FedEx, UPS, and USPS multiple times every year with packages of all sizes and values. I’ve sent my security camera videos to the delivery services and reported these incidents and shown them photos of the damage. They do absolutely NOTHING about it, the same people that do these things still continue to deliver and damage items, and the couriers always say if items are damaged, the shipper because the couriers accept no responsibility. This is why companies like Nintendo need extreme padding and protection in their game system boxes. They have no idea what’s going on in the real world. I was forced to have my switch 2 delivered because my local stores had none in stock. The shipping box was crushed and the console box was damaged as well, so obviously there was some brutality happening to mine too. Thankfully the box wasn’t crushed in the area where the screen was. Only the side with the controllers.
I realize delivery drivers are often on tight deadlines, but really? Why not just set it down just outside the gate? It's on the customer for not leaving their gate open for delivery past that point. I'm glad the system wasn't damaged and also would have kept it in this scenario. But if it had been, I'd definitely be tugging ears for compensation.
This is one of many reasons why many fragile items are heavily bundled into their packaging.
Ahh modern ‘news’. But then, it’s got the comments in so… well played.
You never know what you are going to get - I had my system / memory card delivered to my work for a reason. Person to person..
....
Then I forgot to change the address for the Gamecube controller and had to race home (6min away) to bring it inside the house luckily they had placed it nicely by the front door.
Porch Pirates/Bad weather should be something to worry about - not who is delivering the actual package. What a butt wipe.
Delivery people do this to us sometimes, but that's to avoid walking up the steps of our tall stoop...this guy just didn't want to walk a few steps down a flat path?!
Yeah Target did a sh*t job packing those consoles, all rattling around in the box.
report him, hold him able!!!
this is as bad as the amazon guy
Defecating on my grannys front lawn on CAMERA....
What a pickle head.
I don’t know about other Canadians but mine came through Purolator. They arrived at 9am! I was already at work, they called, and they refused to leave it at the door (signature required). Whilst I was disappointed I couldn’t get it launch day, I was relieved it was safe and the delivery driver was super nice on the phone.
They came back the next day before 9am, it was packed well too and it came with a generous trial for a meal box program (11 free meals).
Oh my goodness. I would have died if I saw that through my notifications!
Nothing new here. I'm in US and thats normal over here. Our packages also often get left out in the rain even though its only 1 step away from our roof over our door, they keep leaving in the rain.
One of the last times I ordered a game console and it got stolen from USPS. I didn't get a real refund from that. That was a nightmare.
